We are all busy working, taking care of the kids, and we all suddenly realize that the holidays are upon us!

Where did summer, and then November go? Today we have some simple, yet adorable and colorful.

We all have those ugly vases, yes I said ugly vase, but when you fill them full of colorful vintage glass ornaments, and lights they go from ugly drab to FAB!!

Just add a little greenery and you’re ready for holiday entertaining!

Until next time!

This is a wonderful time of year to make memories. It was always fun watching the girls during the holidays. They loved the lights, decorating the tree, and making cookies for Santa!

This quote is just a little reminder to make memories that we can cherish a lifetime!

Happy Wednesday!

Hostess Gift Ideas

As a hostess one of the things I have always enjoyed were handmade gifts. Some of my favorites to give and receive is handmade fudge, cookies, or maybe a good bottle of wine!

Is your hostess a coffee lover? What better than a loaf of homemade banana bread with some flavored coffee!

Or for the hostess that loves to spend time in the kitchen, how about some new towels, and new cooking utensils.

Can’t you just imagine to look on your hostess’ face when you put a little thought into a special gift for her!

Have an awesome day!

New Year’s Store Hours

Good Tuesday Morning

I hope you’re all doing well. We have lots of cold and snow again in Colorado. This time no snow at the house when I left, but lots at the store. Won’t be long before the snow plows come by throwing snow and ice all over the front of the store. Guess the dirty windows will wait a while longer! 🙂

New treasures are coming to the store, and things are changing again. I am so excited about some of the stuff, that I keep touching thinking, maybe I should just take a couple home! 🙂

And then a pair of boston terrier salt & pepper shakers show up, and an adorable pair of deer salt and pepper shakers come in – you guessed it. They didn’t make it to the store floor, and yes I am taking them home!

Spring is on my brain so keep an eye out of new planters and planter ideas coming your way.

Hope you all have an awesome week!

Spring is getting ready to Spring!

It has been super cold here in Colorado, and I for one am happy that spring is on the way! I am ok with the snow, but we have had a lot with really cold temps!

Driving to work the last couple of days I noticed that the cows in the area are having their babies! oh, how I love babies! Birds are building nests and laying eggs. Eagle cam are online, eggs are laid, and soon we’ll get to watch them grow like weeds!

Last year we sold all of our ewes and lambs. I am going to miss the babies this spring, but I have not missed feeding in this cold. Yep, I am a wimp! ;0 Won’t be till fall before we have another baby on the place when John’s cow gives birth.

Ziggy is growing like a weed, and love going to work with Winston and mom.

I hope you guys feel inspired to to spend a few minutes a day just enjoying life around you! Spring is almost here and we’ll have lots of color with the leaves on trees, and flowers a bloomin.

Thanks for stopping by today, and every day to see what we’re up to!

Have an awesome week.

Waiting for Planting Season…

$

It’s officially Spring!!! I don’t know about you but I have such a hard time waiting for planting season once the warmer weather gets here. Every year I start my mantra, “Wait for Mother’s Day, wait for Mother’s Day…” Then the stores bring out the spring bulbs and seed packets. “Wait for Mother’s Day!” Easter decorations appear along with hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips in pretty colored pots. “Wait for Mother’s Day!!” All of the new gardening tools appear and the garden sections open in all of the home improvement stores. “WAIT FOR MOTHER’S DAY!!!” I feel like a little girl standing in front of the penny candy store window and my resolve to wait dwindles. Not this year!!!

This year I have a new plan! I am going to use the warmer weather to decorate the side of my garage! That garage wall is what I see when I wash my dishes. We have all of these wonderful items at the store to make my plain garage wall into a wonderful rustic scene. I can use the days until planting season to plan and collect the items I need to create the area I want. I am using the following pictures to inspire my plan:

I am going to get through this warmer weather without buying and planting too early! I will post a picture when my project is done. We hope to see you in the store looking for items for your decorating projects too! We can do this! We can wait for Mother’s Day!

Carolyn joining Nancie, Winston and Ziggy to wish you a

Happy Spring!

Re-Purposed Old Doors

Let’s talk old doors today. Olds doors in themselves are such a work of art, and if you’re lucky to have the original hardware, it can’t get any better!

There are soooo many uses for old doors. I use them as dividers at antique shows, and then hang signs, birdhouses, and more on them.

One of my favorite shows is Flea Market Flip, and I have seen many old door flips, but never as a bar, and this bar is totally awesome!!

Can you imagine this in a rustic cabin????

I have a couple of corner cabinets made out of old doors and I just love them. They aren’t too big and take up a lot of space, and the rustic hardware is totally awesome!

This stunning potting bench would look awesome either in the house full of beautiful house plants, or on the deck with lots of flowers and color!

I just may have inspired myself to move my potting bench to the patio by the shop so that I can enjoy it when I am relaxing and enjoying the sun!

I hope you guys feel inspired to spend a few minutes a day just enjoying life around you, and thinking about your next project! We love pics, so please tag us when sharing!

Thanks for stopping by today, and every day to see what we’re up to!
